Hello. I use <Hibernate 4.2.5.Final> and have the same problem.

I have attached my project mock and stack trace.

Note the exception occurs only if i execute it by <sh catalina.sh start> command It is legal for apache-tomcat-7.0.54, 8.0.3, 8.0.5 versions. But in case I start the project by <mvn tomcat7:run> everything goes OK.
