Hi all,
happy to report that

1. I survived the test of setting up the TCK on a new machine
2. The JPA 2.2 standalone TCK did not fail even with my patch
3. Scott tested the EE 8 server TCK as well and it also didn't fail

So I guess we had a misunderstanding somewhere.
