I am working with Stephan Leicht Vogt (see comment from 01/Feb/13). I have asked people using Hibernate at our company to extract their code into a small prototype hosted on GitHub.

This is the solution we choose to run Hibernate in our commercial application based on Eclipse/Equinox OSGi runtime (used server side). It is a project going in production before summer 2013.
I hope their pattern and choices are reflected in the small prototype. If not, do not hesitate to ask questions, we will be happy to answer them and continue the discussion. If there is interest, we can write more documentation, expand the example, work on a proper release of the code.
