The master versions of the BV XSD files are located in the beanvalidation-api repository. A while ago we did already a change for BV.next which resulted in the creation of validation-mapping-1.2.xsd.

Its change (stemming from BVAL-460 Closed ) should be applied to the 2.0 XSD. Also it seems the BVAL-460 Closed change should have been applied at the other occurrences of "ignore-annotations". This needs to be re-checked.
