I just pushed a new commit to my branch/pr for this work. It represents hibernate-jcache support for the new SPI. It also adds an even simpler way for implementors to write a provider based on a new org.hibernate.cache.spi.support package.

Sorry its taken so long but a large part of this work has been making sure that older caching-related API calls continue to work as-is.
