Hi Brett Meyer, Davide is working on this but it's possibly even a bit more tricky than anticipated.
Note that another possible is that it's easy to make your own custom FieldBridge implementations, the Tika Bridge is just a convenience wrapped around all the Tika know-how which one otherwise needs to have.

So an option would be for you to make a custom bridge and borrow some code from the Tika Bridge.. we'll probably resolve this issue soon anyway, but if making your custom one is simple enough that would avoid you the need to upgrade on multiple branches.
