Clean should definitely nuke whatever is output by the task.  That's easy to add though.. just configure the task outputs.  I am not at computer now, but can show you an example later.

As for an "older version of the patch", this is something the task should take care of completely.  I should not have to know anything besides what task to execute.  So however that happens.

Steve Ebersole I can't reproduce this. I suspect you have an older version of the patch applied to your WildFly instance? Please try nuking your /target directory.

BTW I notice now that ./gradlew clean doesn't wipe out the WildFly copy. Should I add some hook for that?
