Yes I checked that link and tried the same, but no luck.

Please find two sample maven projects, out of which one is Annotation based and other one is XML based.

Annotation sample project:
I don't see any issue.

XML sample project
Build with 4.3.11-Final version, using antrun plugin where model classes have byte code enhancement. (This part is commented in pom.xml for your reference)
Build with 5.1.0-Final version, using hibernate maven plugin but no luck.
