I think that's a good idea, but we definitely should provide a configuration option to users so that they can disable this if they'd prefer a timeout than inaccurate data.

Still, two questions would remain:

• would the default be "enbaled" or "disabled"? This is important as this configuration option would probably seem quite obscure.
• would this be a query-level configuration option, or an application-level one?
