Can you please describe the problem in more detail or provide a test case? The attached zip file does not contain a build file and no test, I cannot reproduce the error. Also, there are no JSF pages which would show how you use Bean Validation w/ JSF.

Could the problem be that null values get converted to empty strings by the UI framework?
