Working on OGM-420, I came to realize that "per request" may indeed mean something different than what we have in mind with OGM-343 (session-level settings). I hope that configuring these things per session is fine-grained enough for the very most cases, in particular since there is no apparent way for pushing settings specific to a single operation into OGM. So we'd have to employ some kind of callback concept or similar.
