FYI – I ran the YourKit Profiler on the 4.4.3-SNAPSHOT this morning. We run a test database with about 384,000 records, and facet on four ENUM values (total of about 20 distinct values). When running a cold search, that shaved about 400,000 Integer objects from being created (down to 800,000), and sped up the facet generation by 3 seconds (15 to 12) as compared to 4.3.0.Final.
