We had significant problems with such things and we agreed on making such abstract classes available ASAP on all cases in which it makes sense, especially if you suspect that you're going to change the API.

I'm sure there are cases in which we didn't do this yet, if any you could make JIRAs for them as we'd need to fix those. The fact that there are missing points is not a good argument to not do it.
