Thank you both, I agree about having a dynamic definition of the fetch style. BUT, @FetchProfile only accepts FetchMode.JOIN:

org.hibernate.MappingException: Only FetchMode.JOIN is currently supported

so I see no workaround either with @FetchProfile.
