Yes, it's worth keeping an eye on it. In particular OrientDB looks highly interesting as it is supposed to provide TX functionality. OTOH I'm not sure how much gets "lost" by that additional abstraction layer.

In general I feel that working on dialects costs much time and energy so should chose wisely and make sure we're focused on the right things (I'm a bit cautious since the CouchDB backend).
