Thanks for looking into this, Steve. Though, the spec leaves some room for interpretation. In this case, the property is not explicitly annotated as Enumerated, so one could argue that EclipseLink does not violate the spec.

Btw: from your input, I assume that HHH-8807 is probably another side of the same problem..
