HS 4.3 isn't expected to be compatible with ORM 4.3 / JPA 2.1. I guess it depends on the point of view, but for sake of our mind's sanity I'd prefer to look at this as a missing feature, not a bug. Missing features don't "affect" any previous versions, or technically we'd have to list all of them. I guess we need to make it clearer at release time that future ORM versions might not be compatible.

Shouldn't take more than 10 days for a compatible Alpha2 (Beta1). This is my TODO list: https://hibernate.atlassian.net/issues/?filter=12266 . You're welcome to take some to speedup the process, but also we're going to move some stuff out of that list to favor quicker releases.. a balance we'll decide on based on feedback like this
