I have the same issue. I upgraded hibernate to 5.4.4 in wildfly 17.0.1 and had to roll back to version 5.3.10 which is bundled with the wildfly server. I also see this issue when upgrading hibernate to 5.3.11. So both 5.4.4 and 5.3.11 are affected by this.
