About (1), the failfast approach seems fine except that if a user happens to have two BV implementations in the classpath, I imagine CDI will pickup both extensions and thus will fail. I'd like to find a way to be sure this annoyance does not happen.
Is it the container's responsibility to select which extension needs to be activated? Or are they picked up because they are in the classpath?
