BTW, 5.3 drops the hibernate-infinispan module - that code moves to infinispan itself. That change aloe would fix what you are seeing, although it opens up the reverse situation as a possible problem.

In general though, as Gail already pointed out, using this module and then expecting all WF "magic" to continue to work is not feasible.
