Looks like https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBEE-160 is addressed via https://github.com/jboss/jboss-transaction-api_spec/commit/b6fd076a46961e9129e7b2551eab263a0a958829 which is released via 1.0.1.Final of org.jboss.spec.javax.transaction:jboss-transaction-api_1.2_spec. WildFly master seems to have this change (from a few weeks ago), which goes into WildFly 11 (if it actually helps).
