So… it sounded strange to me that such a simple use case was buggy, so I went ahead and wrote a test: https://github.com/yrodiere/hibernate-test-case-templates/tree/HSEARCH-2194

And sure enough, it works as expected.

Maybe it was fixed in 5.6, I don’t know. I already wrote a simple test for Search 6, so I’ll merge that, but I won’t go further unless someone provides a reproducer.
