I'm wondering whether we actually need the note in 4.1. It contains no additional info, and the JavaBeans spec is referenced before for the exact definition. How about omitting it and saying before:

Properties to be validated must follow the method signature conventions for JavaBeans read properties, as defined by the JavaBeans specification and described in detail in section 4.1.2. These properties are commonly referred as getters.

Btw. in 4.1.2 it should be "For B oolean properties" instead of "For boolean properties".
