HSEARCH-997 provides numeric bridges for byte/short typed properties. For the sake of index compatibility, these are for now only used if a property is explicitly marked as numeric field.

To be consistent with the other numeric types - which are encoded as numeric fields by default - the default encoding is to be changed to numeric fields with the next non-bugfix release.
