> May I ask to introduce yourself? Sure. I’m an Open Source person (leader of a BSD project since 2002, Debian Developer, having commits in several dozen projects), have been involved with the OSI licence discuss/review mailing lists for a long time, and have had reviewed the GitHub proposed new ToS recently, pointing out these issues, only to get no direct response and to see an only slightly changed ToS go live today. Therefore, I wrote the article and then went through all repositories I could find on my list and other organisations I am a member of and reviewed repositories, removed some, commented on others. In case of forks, I went up one level and commented there, so, for yours, I had to open this up as issue here. This does likely affect all LGPL and GPL repos and those which are Apache 2-licenced and ship a NOTICE text file (as this makes the Apache 2 licence into one requiring attribution). |
