Gunnar Morling I think "explain" is part of a different API, and thus could not be returned as a projection without a second Elasticsearch call. Besides, the call to this API is already implemented in org.hibernate.search.elasticsearch.impl.ElasticsearchHSQueryImpl.explain(int).
