I will be out-of-office for the next 2 weeks and I don't see how I can do it. In any case, I have tried reproducing it using the test cases and was unable to - with HSQL or H2 as the driver. Perhaps it is something related to PostgreSQL or perhaps it does not correctly reflect the situation in the production code. Even when I return from my vacation it may take a while to set it up (perhaps with PostgreSQL) and reproduce (hopefully..). Since it reproduces consistently on our system we might consider some kind of live debugging session where you can connect a remote Eclipse IDE to our system and we debug it together - not sure though if we can easily pull it off (need to get clearance for it and persuade the higher ups that it is important enough to warrant resources allocation...).
