The current APIs and SPIs rely heavily on Lucene types, and this will have to change now that we support alternative indexing services (Elasticsearch, and maybe later Solr, or others).
Also, there are known weaknesses in field bridges, and we might as well make use of that opportunity to overhaul the way field bridges are registered/executed. |
