I found this PR which is related to the issue at hand: https://github.com/searchbox-io/Jest/pull/405 .

That being said, I think the real issue is that Jest serializes then deserializes the JSON. It shouldn't be necessary.

Not sure we could get a fixed version though, the project looks to be more or less dead.
