We know [https://hibernate.atlassian.net/browse/HSEARCH-4845|https://hibernate.atlassian.net/browse/HSEARCH-4845|smart-link] is a breaking change, and we also know there’s no way around it if we upgrade to Lucene 9. This configuration option will provide a bit more flexibility regarding _when_ integrators actually break compatibility.
I suspect this will be necessary for integrators such as EAP which need these incompatible change ADAP due to their release schedule. |
