According to

~~HSEARCH-618~~ and the JavaDoc on AppliedOnTypeAwareBridge, setType() should also be called for class-level bridges, which isn't true, as it is only called for field bridges.

I assume this would have to be done in this BridgeFactory method:
public static FieldBridge extractType(ClassBridge cb, XClass clazz)

{ ...}
