We worked around it by adding an unused <defaultCache> element which would normally be unnecessary as we only used named, shared caches such as @Cache(usage = CacheConcurrencyStrategy.NONSTRICT_READ_WRITE, region = CacheConstants.LONG_TERM_CACHE)
