I’m not sure I understand what the issue might be, unfortunately. In the meantime I have managed to work around this by loading the class through a different classloader.

So it’s not acute for me and if it doesn’t cause any issues for anyone else, feel free to close this.

The error message was just a NoClassDefFound with the name of the class used in the property with the ManyToOne association.
