Some of the Felix and ServiceMix Maven plugins trigger some odd interaction with m2e which leads to install unwanted plugins, which ultimately break the ChecksTyle plugin as it flags all source code as non-compiling.

I could resolve it setting metadata for m2e in the parent poms.
