I've been looking through the documentation to find out how to build a 'custom constraint validator discovery' mechanisim. Is that part of the current specification? I can't seem to find anything specific that would just let me override that one part of the Validator. I see where the hibernate ConstraintHelper does the work, I'm just not sure how to access that. Is there someplace else to do that? Or did I misunderstand the 2nd paragraph of your last statement?
