I find it a bit early to close this issue. IMO there is a lot to be gained by having a another look at this. I am not saying that it is high priority, but it just not just be discarded either.

The standard {{ServiceLoader}} could be used to read the services file instead of the custom implementation in {{StandardServiceManager}}.
