Hi André Hildinger, I'm afraid that Guillaume Smet is spot on. The problem is not that we throw an exception for this case, the problem is that we should throw an exception for the case of multi-valued String fields as well.

It might seem like it's working, but sorting on multi-valued fields has never been reliable. We need to improve the validation to prevent people to do this, and hopefully make the error messages clearer too.
