Even though you asked for this to be closed, I'm working it anyway. I'm using your pull request as the basis for cleaning up and sync'ing the Blob, Clob, and NClob descriptors. They were inconsistent and, as you found, not always supporting streams. I'll push it shortly. Thanks!
