Was done as part of the Search 6 groundwork, right from the start when we re-implemented the Elasticsearch integration (see this commit). Elasticsearch configuration properties are now relative to the prefix used to configure the backend, e.g. "hibernate.search.backend.myBackend.host http://elasticsearch.acme.com:9200/".
