I was told in the user forum to open an issue against the documentation component https://discourse.hibernate.org/t/how-to-contribute-using-eclipse/783 so I opened an issue against the documentation component.

It all really depends on whether your want to support Eclipse. If you want to support Eclipse then yes, the build scripts should probably be checked as well. If you don't want to support Eclipse then the documentation should reflect that.
