Understood. However, having some sort of test is beneficial in that 1.) we can permanently use it as a regression test and 2.) verify that there really is a true issue. We hesitate to make changes purely on hypotheticals. But I'll leave this open if someone else is able to reproduce it, or someone has interest in fixing.
