Ok, I will try to have a look during the weekend. I'm in a release myself so, not sure how far I'll get. But since this issue is important to me I will spend time. Regarding the test cases, I agree: it forces you to really evaluate the issue. To help the less experienced developer produce a test case, I would propose creating a template that has the basic setup covered. Why not have an intern write up a blog post? I think most of the time people are willing but just need a little guidance. This has often held me back in the past: wanting to express yourself in code but getting bogged down in basic setup stuff and then just giving up.
