This is the same exact problem as I reported in HHH-8714 Open except rather than using an @IdClass or @EmbeddedId annotated inner class, you're actually using an annotated entity. The same dialog there in HHH-8714 Open holds true for this use case too. Going to mark this as a duplicate.
