Ok, I think we talked at cross-purposes. To clarify it: hibernate-core, hibernate-entitiymanager, hibernate-envers, hibernate-c3p0 and hibernate-infinispan ALL need bundle manifests to work as osgi bundles(SymbolicName, Name, Version, Exports, Imports, etc). Additionally only hibernate-entitymanager needs to announce a service for the persistence provider - either descriptive or via a bundle activator.
For the start, hibernate-commons-annotations need to be modified to, to get a bundle manifest - if it is needed later, maybe
