I thought that it was the problem of the driver too, but the same sql with the same jdbc driver works properly f.e. in the SquirrelSql. It returns trimmed result. The problem reproduces only with Hibernate. Maybe there is some workaround on Hibernate side to prevent such behavior? It can take centuries until the IBM will fix it, especially taken in account that I can reproduce it only with Hibernate.
