4.3.x needs to be built with JDK 1.7. I just successfully built 4.3.10.

Andrei is correct that 4.3 is no longer being maintained. You should use master for your test case. We will use your test case to determine if it is working on master.

Instead of a pull request, you can create a runnable test case using https://github.com/hibernate/hibernate-test-case-templates.
