I think a custom annotation indeed the best solution and most in the spirit of Bean Validation. {{@ValidatedDateResolution}} is a possibility, but I am also not so sure if it is worth the effort. Definitely no high priority for me. Btw, would custom {{@Future}} and {{@Past} }  annotations not be better than {{@ValidatedDateResolution}}. We could offer some sort of resolution parameter and potentially something like a inclusive flag.  Hibernate Validator / HV-820 Support possibility to include the current day/instant in @Future and @Past Add Comment
