Now when I re-read the issue, I can see that this can be misunderstood. What I meant to say, was that Envers throw an exception when it cannot find the entity at the given revision. If an entity cannot be found at the desired revision, a null result should be returned if this annotation is provided. This might be split into a separate issue instead.
