Sanne Grinovero This ticket is currently blocked by the lack of options in the Elasticsearch client to configure per-request timeouts (see the link to the GitHub ticket). If we want to release 5.8 soon, I'm afraid we won't be able to implement it in time: even if the Elastic team starts to work on it right time, we'll have to wait for their release...
Plus, it's not really something we can contribute: the problem isn't technically difficult, but there is a choice to be made regarding API changes.
So, ok to keep it in 5.8 for now, but we may have to move it away in two weeks if nothing changed on their side.
