There's no particular attachment to 3.6; it was simply the stable version back when we started, and we have never had any reason to upgrade. Other than a couple of custom ID generators (using foreign-key mappings) and ImprovedNamingStrategy, everything's pretty much default, so unless there are surprises, upgrading shouldn't be a problem. Where can we get the version with the changes you pushed; is it available as a Maven snapshot?
